Visakhapatnam port and Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries has arranged a trade meet today, 27th July in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Mr. GVL Satya Kumar, Deputy Chairman of Visakhapatnam port has addressed that the port has handled almost 60 Million Tons (MnT) of cargo. Out of which major commodity was Iron ore fines which is total 12.31 MnT handled by the port which is 21.3% of the trade. However , 6.84 MnT (12%) of Coking coal and 2.95 MnT (5%) of Non Coking coal have been handled by the port.
The Port is having state of art techniques for handling cargo. For handling bulk commodity they have modernized the ports for the quick turnaround of cargoes with the association of the Indian Railway, CONCOR etc.
Port are still in another phase of modernizing itself and expanding its stocking capacity, upgrading its technologies, increasing draft limits for attracting more cape size vessels and many more expansion plans are in line.
Different industry officials have participated and discussed about Visakhapatnam port service and expansion plans.
People who are to attended the trade meet are from various companies like K'Line, Jayaswal Neco, SAIL, Integral Trading and Logistics, Vedanta, CONCOR, Bagadia Brothers etc.
