Vietnam’s steel exports surge to record 0.95 mn t in Aug’20

According to data from Vietnam’s General Statistics Office, the country’s steel exports skyrocketed to 0.95 mn t in Aug’20 – a phenomenal rise of 96.1% on year. Vietnam exported 5.74 mn t of steel products in Jan-Aug’20 registering a surge of 31.9% y-o-y on the back of subdued domestic demand. In Jan-Aug’20 the country imported 9.73 mn t of steel thereby recording a marginal growth of 0.9% y-o-y.
