Vietnam’s bulk coal imports fall in Sep’24; Australia, Indonesia emerge as top suppliers

Vietnam’s bulk coal (coking, non-coking, and met coke) imports declined 17% in Sep’24 to 4.0 mnt from 4.8 mnt in Aug’24.
Australia and Indonesia were the leading suppliers at 1.4 mnt and 1.3 mnt, respectively.
Year-to-date imports totalled 41.3 mnt, a 31% rise from 31.6 mnt in Jan-Sep’23.
Imports in Sep’24 were 8% higher compared to 3.7 mnt in Sep’23.
