Vietnam’s Apparent Steel Consumption

Vietnam’s apparent steel consumption increased by 4% y-o-y in CY’21 to 24 mn t. In 2020, Vietnam’s apparent steel consumption was reported around 23 mn t. The country’s steel production increased by 19% y-o-y to 33.30 mn t in CY’21. Production of long products increased 3% y-o-y to 12.36 mn t, hot rolled coils by 60% y-o-y to 7.14 mn t and coated steel sheets by 17% y-o-y to 5.96 mn t.
