According to trade participants report, Vietnam’s steelmaker – Hoa Phat Duong Quat Steel JSC has plans to develop 1.8 MnT pa capacity pelletizing plant, in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai, Quang Ngai, Vietnam.
The project included the construction of a new red ore pelletizing plant with the annual output capacity of 1.8 MnT. The engineering design of the project adopted the grate-rotary kiln pellet process, and the process flow and equipment capacity were considered according to the ratio of 80% hematite and 20% of magnetite iron ore.
As per sources, the project is expected to become operational in 2019.
The project is a package for Hoa Phat Duong Quat integrated steel project. The EPC contract of it was the key project for NETC, MCC actively responding to the national “Belt and Road” strategy.
Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel uses blast furnace technology with a capacity of up to 0.85 MnTPA, contributing to increase the steel capacity of the Hoa Phat Group to 1.2 MTPA. Its model is considered as synchro production line, modern and largest scale of Vietnam.
