- Vietnam’s ferrous scrap imports rose 19% m-o-m to 404,380 t in Aug’24 from 339,565 t in Jul’24. Imports surged by 37% y-o-y from 295,603 t in Aug’23.
- During Jan-Aug’24, imports increased by 17% to 2.9 mnt compared to 2.5 mnt in the year-ago period.
- Japan was the leading exporter to Vietnam at 211,070 t, accounting for over 50% of the total volume, followed by Hong Kong (74,689 t), Australia (55,945 t), and the US (42,511 t).
