Vietnam: Domestic scrap prices up by $13/t

Ferrous scrap prices in Vietnam moved up further by VND 300/kg ($13) on 21 Jun’21 compared to SteelMint’s last assessment published on 16 June. The new purchase price for H1 scrap is at VND 10,700/kg ($460) and VND 10,400/kg ($450) is the price set for H2 grade scrap. Due to high import scrap offers steel mills in Vietnam seem to be preferring domestic scrap even at higher prices, SteelMint notes.
