Vietnam: Coal imports falls 30% in September, but shipments from Russia rise

Vietnam’s coal imports fell sharply by 30% m-o-m to 1.94 mnt in Sep’22 led by weakening shipments from traditional sources. Imports from Australia declined by 18% as its prices reached record-high levels last month, while shipments from Indonesia and South Africa fell over 30%. Imports from Russia, however, rose by a whopping 500% to 0.2 mnt.
