Vedanta Resources, one of India’s largest pig iron manufacturers, has raised pig iron prices by INR 2,000/t for Gujarat based buyers. Current offers for foundry grade pig iron are assessed at around INR 49,000-49,200/t delivered to Ahmedabad. However, no official confirmation was received till the time of publication of this report. The company has raised prices on account of higher coke and coal prices as well as hike in prices by other merchant producers.
