Brazilian mining major, Vale, registered a 1.3% drop in coal production in 2016 on year-on-year basis.
During 2016, the company had produced around 7.3 MnT of coal, which was slightly lower than the production at around 7.2 MnT in 2015.
Coking Coal production in Australia during the year was lower as the Carborough Downs mine was disinvested, and geological issues hampered coal mining.
