Amid the escalating military stand-off between Russia and Ukraine, the USA has announced sanctions on Sibuglemet, Russia’s top coal producer and trader. However, the sanctions will not have any major impact on Sibuglemet’s business as its major export markets are the CIS and Asia. In 2021, the company produced 6 mnt of coking coal and 4.1 mnt of thermal coal.
