USA: Pig iron imports surge m-o-m, in Jun’22

USA’s pig iron imports grew significantly by 88.65% m-o-m in Jun’22 to 0.56 mnt from 0.30 mnt in May, as per data recently released by customs.
India was the largest exporter with 0.21 mnt followed by Brazil with 0.19 mnt.
However, import volumes fell by 15% to 2.43 mnt y-o-y in Jan-Jun’22 as against 2.88 mnt in the year-ago period.
