USA: Pig iron imports fall by 25% m-o-m in January

  • The USA’s pig iron imports dropped by 25% m-o-m to 297,010 t in Jan’23 from 395,018 t in Dec’22, as per data recently released by Customs.
  • Brazil was the major exporter with 228,517 t in January.
  • Import volumes fell by 53% y-o-y against 637,292 t in Jan’22.
