USA: Pig iron imports dip 24% y-o-y in CY22

USA’s pig iron imports declined by 24% y-o-y to 4.52 mnt in CY22 from 6.02 mnt in CY21, as per data recently released by customs.
Brazil was the major exporter with 2.34 mnt, followed by Ukraine and Russia with 698,949 t and 637,973 t respectively.
However, import volumes rose by 9% m-o-m to 395,018 t in Dec’22 as against 362,468 t in the previous month.
