According to USA customs data, USA flat steel imports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) fell by 9%
on monthly basis to 0.96 MnT in Sep’17 as compared to 1.05 MnT in Aug’17.
On yearly basis also country’s flat steel imports declined by 5% to Sep’17 in comparison
to previous year.In Sep’16 the same was registered at 1.01 MnT.
During the first nine months of (Jan-Sep) CY17 country’s flat steel imports assessed at 9.1 MnT,up by 3% as compared to 8.84 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.

Canada accounts for 26% of share during first nine months of CY17-Canada has exported 2.39 MnT of flat steel in during the time period of Jan-Sep’17.It has occupied the largest share of 26.16 % in first nine months of CY17.Other countries include South Korea which occupied share of 9.45 % ,Mexico with 6.71%, followed by Turkey at 6.41% and Taiwan at 6.37% share respectively .
However on monthly basis Canada exported 0.26 MnT of flat steel to USA in Sep’17 down
by 10% against 0.29 MnT in Aug’17.In Sep17 other flat steel exporting countries to USA
included South Korea,Mexico,Turkey and Taiwan.
