According to latest customs data, USA flat steel exports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets nation’s flat steel exports inch up by 2.3% on monthly basis in May’18.
The country has exported 0.43 MnT of flat steel in May’18 in comparison with 0.42 MnT in previous month.
However on yearly premise,flat steel exports shrink by 23% in May’18 against 0.56 MnT in May’17.
During first five months of CY18 (Jan-May) nation has exported 2.08 MnT of flat steel lower by 27% against 2.85 MnT in same time frame of previous year.
U.S. steel exports remained on lower side and it is anticipated that it may fall further because of trade related conflicts with major trading partners Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

Country-Wise USA flat steel exports in May’18- Canada was the major flat steel importer from USA and has procured 0.19 MnT in May’18 fell by 10% against 0.21 MnT in Apr’18.
Second largest importer of flat steel from USA was Mexico which stood at 0.20 MnT decline by 5% against 0.19 MnT in Apr’18.
Meanwhile India imported flat steel in small quantities in May’18.
