Finish long steel exports from the USA continue to dip and stood all time low since Jan 2013, as per custom data maintained with SteelMint.
As per the custom, the nation has exported about 0.08 MnT Finish Long steel in Jul’18, which is all time low since Jan’13. Also on monthly premises it slide by around 42.85% against 0.14 MnT in Jun’18.
Similarly on yearly comparison the Finish long steel exports shrunk by 27.27% to 0.08 MnT in Jul’18 as compared to 0.11 MnT in Jul’17.
The total long steel exports from the USA was about 0.88 MnT during Jan-Jul’18 and Canada stood as largest importer, imported about 0.65 MnT, other big importer was Mexico at 0.18 MnT.
It’s being observed that nation’s steel consumption slightly high as crude steel production registered at 7.28 MnT in Jul’18 (+6.27%) against 6.85 MnT in Jun’18.
Under Finish Long commodities following HS Codes has been considered – Bar & Rod (HS Code 7213 & 7214), MS Wire (HS Code 7217) along with Angle & Shapes (HS Code 7215 & 7216).
Bar’s & Rods along with Structure (Angle and Shapes) have contributed the equivalent proportionate during Jul’18 and registered at 0.04 MnT down by 50% and 33.34% respectively against Jun’18 followed by Wire Rod 0.01 MnT which is stable against Jun’18.
Imports
Finish Long Steel Imports in the USA registered at 0.34 MnT in Jul’18, surge by 54.54% against 0.22 MnT in Jun’18. On yearly comparison, the imports down by 26% against 0.46 MnT in Jul’17.
Country wise:
During Jul’18, the largest importer of Finish Long Steel was Canada – 0.06 MnT & Mexico stood at 0.02 MnT.
