USA: Ferrous scrap exports rise 16% on month in Jan’22

US ferrous scrap exports rose by 16%, m-o-m, to 1.26 mnt in Jan’22 against 1.09 mnt in Dec’21, as per customs data.
Turkey was the top importer with 0.31 mnt, followed by Mexico and Bangladesh with 0.17 mnt each, respectively.
On a year-on-year basis, too, US export volumes were up by 11% from 1.14 mnt in Jan’21.
