US ferrous scrap exports witnessed a surge of 25% m-o-m to 2.01 mn t in May’21 as against 1.61 mn t in Apr, as per customs data compiled by SteelMint. However, on a y-o-y basis, exports increased by nearly 45% compared to 1.39 mn t in the year-ago month. Mexico was the top importer with at 0.33 mn t in May followed by Turkey and Malaysia with 0.28 mn t and 0.24 mn t respectively.
