In CY’23, ferrous scrap exports from the US totalled 15.75 mnt, marking an 8% decline from the 17.1 mnt recorded in the same period last year. December’s exports amounted to 1.01 mnt, indicating a 4% decrease compared to the previous month’s 1.14 mnt. Among the top importers of scrap from the US, Turkiye emerged as the leading destination with 4.07 mnt, followed by Mexico and India.
