USA: Ferrous scrap exports drop 33% on month in Sep’21

US ferrous scrap exports fell by 33%, m-o-m, to 1.23 mn t in Sep’21 against 1.84 mn t in Aug, as per customs data.
Turkey was the top importer with 0.33 mn t, followed by Mexico and Bangladesh with 0.27 mn t and 0.13 mn t, respectively.
On a year-on-year basis, US export volumes rose by 6% from 1.16 mn t in Sep’20.
