With the recent release of trade data by USA; it is legible that the Second largest exporter of Ferrous Scrap; exported around 0.81 MnT of Ferrous Scrap during Jul’16, down by 18% M-o-M and by 5% Y-o-Y. USA exported around 1 MnT during Jun’16 and around 0.86 MnT during Jul’15. Major export destinations for the Country during Jul’16 were Turkey, Mexico, Taiwan and South Korea. Country’s total Ferrous Scrap export during CY’15 was around 12.97 MnT.
• Export to Turkey increased by 133% during Jul’16 M-o-M, remained stable Y-o-Y. USA exported around 0.21 MnT to Turkey during Jul’16 and 0.09 MnT during Jun’16
• USA exported around 0.14 MnT to Mexico during Jul’16, registered a downfall of 36% M-o-M. Exports increased by 8% Y-o-Y. The nation exported 0.22 MnT to Mexico during Jun’16 and 0.13 MnT during Jul’15.
• Export to Taiwan increased by 63% during Jul’16 M-o-M and 44% Y-o-Y. The nation exported 0.13 MnT during Jul’16 and 0.08 MnT during Jun’16.
• USA export to South Korea registered a growth of 50% during Jul’16 M-o-M, decreased by 40% Y-o-Y. Exports were 0.09 MnT during Jul’16, 0.06 MnT during Jun’16 and 0.15 MnT during Jul’15.
• Export to Vietnam increased by 150% during Jul’16 M-o-M and by 67% Y-o-Y. Export was 0.05 MnT during Jul’16 and 0.02 MnT during Jun’16.
• USA export to China increased by 25% during Jul’16 on both M-o-M and Y-o-Y. The nation exported 0.05 MnT during Jul’16 and 0.04 MnT during Jun’16.
• USA exported around 0.05 MnT to Kuwait during Jul’16, registered a downfall of 62% M-o-M against 0.13 MnT exported during Jun’16. Export to Kuwait increased by 67% Y-o-Y.
• Other major destinations for USA Ferrous Scrap during Jul’16 include Canada (0.04 MnT), Pakistan (0.02 MnT) and India (0.02 MnT).
Heavy melting scrap accounted for 42% of the total scrap exported from USA. The nation exported 0.34 MnT of Heavy melting scrap during Jul’16, followed by Shredded steel scrap with exports of 0.23 MnT during Jul’16. Other major scraps exported by the nation include Other Ferrous Scrap (0.12 MnT), Alloy Steel waste and scrap not stainless (0.04 MnT), Cut plate and structural steel scrap (0.03 MnT) and Bundles steel scrap (0.02 MnT)
