USA: Coking coal prices rise after gap of three weeks

US High-vol A coking coal prices rose by $7/t at $475/t on 9 May’22 after remaining rangebound for three weeks. US coal prices had been stagnant as major buyer China had been buying Russian coal at heavy discounts. The recent rise can be attributed to elevated Australian coking coal prices and marginal improvement in EU demand.
