USA: Coal output expected to rise by 4% in 2022, says EIA

USA’s coal output is expected to reach around 600 mnt in 2022, up by 4% y-o-y, as per US Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) latest short-term energy outlook. In 2023, production is expected to fall to 588 mnt. The country’s coal export projections may also see a drop to 81 mnt in 2022, down 5% y-o-y amid the volatility surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war.
