USA: Ferrous scrap exports fall by 4%, m-o-m, in May

Ferrous scrap exports by the USA dipped by 4%, m-o-m, to 1.57 mnt in May’22 as against 1.64 mnt in Apr, as per customs data.
Mexico continued to be the major importer at 310,000 t, while Vietnam and Turkey imported 240,000 t and 190,000 t, respectively.
On a year-on-year basis, export volumes slipped 22% compared to 2.01 mnt in May’21.
