USA: Alcoa to restart operations at Brazil aluminum plant

Alcoa has energised the first 20 smelting pots at its Alumar aluminum smelter in Sao Luis, Brazil, to begin part of the ongoing restart of aluminum capacity at the location. Production at Alumar is expected to reach its full capacity of 447,000 t by the end of FY22. Alcoa has installed capacity of 17 mnt/year.
