Alcoa Corporation reported results for the second quarter of 2024. Alumina production decreased by 5% to 2.53 mnt, mainly due to the full curtailment of the Kwinana refinery in June 2024. Meanwhile, Alcoa’s aluminum production rose to 543,000 t, marking the seventh consecutive quarter of growth. Alcoa expects 2024 total aluminium segment production and shipments to remain unchanged from the prior projection, ranging between 2.2 and 2.3 mnt, and between 2.5 and 2.6 mnt, respectively.
