United States (US), one of the largest coal producing countries, weekly production has grown by 3.5% and produced around 19.6 million metric short tonnes (mmst) of coal at the end of the week 49 (30 Nov-06 Dec, 2014).
US weekly coal production augmented slightly against previous week and also registered a growth of 12.3% from comparable week of 2013, reported by the US government agency.
The country has produced about 924.8 mmst YTD coal that includes Coking, Non-coking & Anthracite, which was about 0.5% higher than comparable YTD coal production in 2013.
Coal production from East of the Mississippi River totaled 7.8 mmst and from the West of the Mississippi River totaled 11.8 mmst during week-end.
