US: Weekly Coal Production reaches 18.8 MnT

United States (US), one of the largest coal producing countries, has produced around 18.8 million metric short tonnes (mmst) of coal at the end of the week 38 (14-20 Sep, 2014).

US weekly coal production has declined by 2% against previous week and showed an uptick from comparable week of 2013, reported by the US government agency.

The country has produced around 711.3 mmst YTD coal that includes Coking, Non-coking & Anthracite. This shows a slight decline of 1.2% as comparable with YTD coal production in 2013.

Coal production from East of the Mississippi River totaled 8 mmst and from the West of the Mississippi River totaled 10.8 mmst during week-end.
