US: Total Coal Production dropped by 3.4% on Y-o-Y  Basis 

A US government agency EIA has reported that in the week ended on 3rd Aug 2013, US coal production totaled around 20 million short tons (mmst) approx. The recent week's production which ended on 3rd Aug 2013 has dropped by 4 % in comparison of last week and 0.4% higher than the production estimate in the comparable weeks in 2012.

Coal production for east of the Mississippi River totaled around 8 mmst and for west of the Mississippi River totaled 12 mmst.

U.S. year-to-date coal production totaled 583.6 mmst, 3.4% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2012.

US coal production in July'13 was at 88.9 mmst including all type of coal (Anthracite, Bituminous coal, Lignite etc), which is Y-o-Y up by 3%.
