US government agency EIA, has reported that in the week ended on 7th September 2013, US has produced total approximately 20.2 million short tons (mmst). The estimated production is 3.6% lower than in comparison of last week and 1.1% higher than the production estimate in the comparable weeks in 2012.
Coal production for east of the Mississippi River totaled 7.9 mmst and for west of the Mississippi River totaled 12.3 million metric short tons.(mmst).
U.S. year-to-date coal production totaled 686.3 mmst, 2.5% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2012.
