US: Pig iron imports rise over 40% m-o-m in September

The US’ pig iron imports moved up by 47.36% m-o-m in Sep’22 to 423,046 t from 287,087 t in August, as per data recently released by Customs.
Brazil was the major exporter with 251,942 t, followed by Ukraine with 58,085 t.
Cumulative import volumes fell by 25.5% to 3.56 mnt y-o-y in Jan-Sep’22 as against 4.78 mnt in the year-ago period.
