US: Finished flats exports drop on monthly basis in Jul’21

Finished flat steel export volumes stood at 500,282 tonnes (t) in Jul’21 compared to 502,743 t in the previous month over reduced exports of value-added products, as per customs data maintained with SteelMint.

Export volumes of:

• Galvanised steel fell to 94,303 t (down 9%)
• Pipes and tubes reduced to 72,903 t (down 4%)
• Electrical steels decreased by 2% to 101,494 t

However, exports of substrate products like HRC/plates increased by 6% to 140,346 t, while that of CRC went up by 24% to 45,436 t in Jul’21. The major export destinations were Mexico, Canada, Pakistan and China.
