US coking coal exports to China doubled m-o-m basis to 0.28 mnt in May. However, exports in Jan-May’22 came down by more than 60% against last year as the country is dealing with Covid resurgence and also opting for cheaper Russian coal. US’ total coking coal exports remained rangebound m-o-m at 3.9 mnt in May but were up by 7% on y-o-y basis.
