Union Steel, (Korean company) opens coil centre in Noida, India

The Korea producer of cold rolled and coated sheet, Union
Steel Manufacturing, on Monday officially inaugurated a new coil centre in
India. Located in Greater Noida, 40km southeast of New Delhi, Union Steel India
has a capacity of 60,000 tonnes/year and aims to supply appliance makers such
as Korean firms Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, and other foreign
manufacturers such as Whirlpool.

“In fact, the new coil centre went through hot trials earlier and began
commercial production in May this year,” a spokeswoman from the Dongkuk Steel
Mill subsidiary said. “The ceremony this time was just to celebrate the
official opening,”
