The Indian Government may ban the export of Iron ore or restrict the exports to protect the rich mineral wealth of the country, say reports, quoting Steel Minister Virbhadra Singh.
In a related development, the Central government proposes to set up a national mineral regulatory authority to monitor mining-related activities and curb illegal-mining. The decision was based on a suggestion made by a group of ministers headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
