Ukraine’s iron ore exports fall nearly 30% in Nov’22

Ukrainian mining companies reported total iron ore output at 0.78 mnt in Nov’22, down 27% m-o-m. The exports fell by 43% to 23.2 mnt in Jan-Nov’22, compared to same period last year. Following Russia’s invasion of Ukrainian territory, domestic steel companies reduced exports to a bare minimum. Moreover, problems with logistics and unfavourable market conditions, forced Ukrainian mining and processing plants to halt or reduce their iron ore production.
