Ukraine’s crude steel output drops over 50%, y-o-y, Jan-May’22

Ukraine’s crude steel production fell by 52.8% y-o-y to 4.24 mnt in Jan-May’22, data from the Ukrainian Steel Manufacturers Association shows. Pig iron production fell by 53.3% y-o-y in the first five months of 2022 to 4.15 mnt. Total finished steel production fell 52.7% on the year to 3.79 mnt. ArcelorMittal’s Ukrainian mill maintained production at around 20% of normal as of end-May.
