Metinvest owned – PJSC Zaporizhstal reported 343,700 t of steel production last month, up by 14% y-o-y against 301,100 t in Mar ’20. Meanwhile, its pig iron output stood at 394,300 t and rolled products at 291,500 t, increasing by 11% and 25% (y-o-y), respectively. The rise in production is attributed to the higher production rates in Mar ’21 compared to the same period last year as the blast furnace No. 5 was shut down for overhaul.
