Ukraine Pig Iron Export Decline 50% in Sep – 17

Ukraine, the world’s third-largest Pig iron exporter, has reported downfall in pig iron exports by 50% in Sep’17.

As per recent data released by the Department State Statistics Service of Ukraine, it is observed that the nation has exported about 170,000 MT Pig Iron in Sep’17. The exports have diminished by 50% M-o-M in Sep’17 against 340,000 MT in Aug’17.

U.S. continues to remain the largest Pig iron buyer of Ukraine. In the month of Sep’17, U.S. and Italy have imported more than 41% (0.07 MnT) of Ukrainian Pig Iron, followed by Turkey 17.64% (0.03 MnT).

Coming to total exports in the duration of CY17 (Jan-Sep), the nation has exported about 1.62 MnT Pig Iron and maintained the around midpoint export quantity in 2017.

In CY17 (Jan-Sep) – United States, Italy & Turkey was the major Pig Iron importer of Ukraine which imported about 930,000 MT (57.36%), 380,000 MT (23.24%) & 140,000 MT (8.93%), respectively.

Presently, the export offers of steel grade Pig Iron are assessed at USD 350-355/MT FoB Russia, USD 340-350/MT FoB Brazil & at USD 345-350/MT FoB India.
