Trade statistics released by the European Union shows that UK, the 10th largest iron ore importer has imported 1.07 MnT iron ore in Jul’16.
Country’s import rose by 13.8% M-o-M as compared to 0.94 MnT in Jun’16. However, on Y-o-Y basis, iron ore imports drop down by 26.7% as compared to 1.46 MnT in Jul’15.
In the first seven months of 2016, the country imported 5.6 MnT iron ore, down by 33% as it was 8.48 MnT in the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) imports in Jul’16 was registered at 0.81 MnT, increased by 19% over the previous month as it was 0.68 MnT in Jun’16. The country imported 0.94 MnT non-agglomerated ore in Jul’15.
The agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrates) imports in Jul’16 remained stable at 0.26 MnT M-o-M. However, on Y-o-Y basis, the country’s agglomerated imports significantly dropped down by 50% as it was 0.52 MnT in Jul’15.
