Trade statistics released by the UK Customs show that UK, the 10th largest importer of iron ore has imported 0.69 MnT iron ore in Nov’16.
Country’s import witnessed an increase of 77.49% M-o-M as compared to 0.39 MnT in Oct’16. The imports have seen increase on Y-o-Y basis as well by 78% for the same month while compared to 0.39 MnT in Nov’15.
In the first eleven months of 2016, the country imported 8.20 MnT iron ore, down by 29% as it was 11.51 MnT in the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) imports in Nov’16 was registered at 0.30 MnT, down by 24% over the previous month as it was 0.39 MnT in Oct’16. Exports of non-agglomerated iron ore were at 0.34 MnT in Nov’15.
The agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrates) imports were at 0.40 MnT in Nov’16 whereas there were no imports of the material in the previous month, however, it were seven fold up when compared with Nov’15 figures.
The country imported the material from Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina and Netherlands first time for the year 2016 in Nov.
