Emirates Steel, an integrated steel producer in the Middle East, has awarded the ‘General Designer’ contract to Tata Consulting Engineers for expanding its fully automated first-of-its-kind hot-rolled coil (HRC) plant which is likely to boost the company’s production capacity to more than 5 mn t/year. The agreement is for 10 months and the scope of work includes evaluation and analysing all phases of the project as well as discussions on logistical and environmental issues.
