Turkish thermal coal imports recover; coking, met coke imports decline

Turkey’s non-coking coal imports rose to 1.78 mn t in May’20, up 11.4% m-o-m but down 14.7% y-o-y; whereas cumulative imports totaled 11.73 mn t during Jan-May’20, up 3.3% y-o-y. Contrarily, the country’s coking coal imports plunged 43.6% y-o-y to 0.40 mn t in May’20; while met coke imports plummeted by a whopping 52.1% to 44,158 t.
