Turkey’s Finished long and flat steel exports plunged by 12.7% and 26.7%, respectively, M-o-M in Feb’20, ccording to customs data maintained with SteelMint.
Under Finish long steel commodities, following HS codes have been considered – Bar & Rod (HS Code 7213 & 7214), MS Wire (HS Code 7217) along with Angle & Shapes (HS Code 7215 & 7216).
— Rebar, Wire rod and Structural steel exports plunged by 12.7% to 7,67,767 MT in Feb’20 against 8,79,955 MT in Jan’20.
The exports have declined due to the lower imports by major import countries like Yemen, Israel and Singapore from Turkey.
— In Feb’20, Yemen’s import was about 1,13,259 MT (-24.3%) against 1,49,746 MT in Jan’20, Israel at 1,00,525 MT in Feb’20 (-29%) against 1,41,803 MT in Jan’20 and by Singapore marked at 56,887 MT in Feb’20 (-3.9%) against 59,183 MT in Jan’20.
— Finish flat steel exports drifted down by 26.7% to 5,29,402 MT in Feb’20 against 7,22,189 MT in Jan’20. Also on a Y-o-Y basis, declined by 28.8% in Feb’20 against 7,43,485 MT in Feb’19.
