Turkish ferrous scrap market remains calm

Activities in Turkey for imported ferrous scrap remain slow
this week due to the New Year holidays. Traders expect it to rise in the coming
weeks.

Turkish scrap imports have remained slow since the end of the
December owing to the Christmas and New Year holidays, and the prices are
unchanged since last week.

A 40,000 MT cargo of HMS
1&2 (80:20) was sold at US$ 467/MT CFR Turkey from a US supplier. A mixed
cargo of 25,000 MT of HMS 1&2 70:30 and 10,000 MT of shredded scrap was
sold at US$ 442.5-460/MT CFR from a European supplier. Further, a Baltic-origin
cargo of 5,000 MT of A3 scrap was sold at US$ 462/MT CFR. These prices are all
similar to the previous week's bookings.
