Turkish Billet exports moved up sharply in 2012

Exports market for Billet proved to be good in 2012 and Turkish Billet producers exported its material in huge quantities.

Exports of steel Billet jumped by 24.25% to 2.9 million metric tons (mmt) in 2012 as compared to 2011, according to data of Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK ).

678,958 mt of Billet was exported to Iran in 2012, which was thrice of imports made in 2012.

Saudi Arabia was the largest importer of Turkey's Billet in 2012. It was never before that 1.4 million metric ton was imported by Turkey, that was twice of imports made in 2011.

Exports in 2012 at an average price of $560/MT ($638/MT in 2011) amounted to a rise of 14.4% in comparison to 2011 and stood at $1.75 billion.

2,908, 170 mt of Billet exports made by Turkey in 2012: S. Arabia (1,349,975), Iran (678,958), Egypt (254,662), Bangladesh (170,245) UAE (98,806) Sudan (59,649), Peru (56,480), Morocco (50,087), Israel (38,984) and Kenya (37,164).

2,340, 565 mt of Billet exports made by Turkey in 2011: S. Arabia (714,743), Iran (260,510), Egypt (414,891), Bangladesh (88,246) UAE (147,489) Sudan (31,209), Peru (53,678), Morocco (124,121), Israel (19,701) and Kenya (15,828).
