The shortage of Black sea scrap has given a room for Turkey to import scrap from the Ex-Baltic.
According to sources, Turkish electric arc furnace has booked a total quantity 41,000 MT of mixed scrap cargo, out of which 24,000 MT of the material is A3 demolition material and remaining quantity of 17,000 MT is shredded scrap, booked at an average price of USD 382/MT CFR Samsun (Turkey).
On the other side, the cargo booked by the Egypt steel mill from North America is now delivered to Turkey due to strike in Egypt mill.
The cargo contained a total quantity of 49,000 MT of mixed scrap, out of which 33,000 MT were shredded scrap, 13,500 MT were HMS 1, and 2,500 MT were plate and structure and cast iron, booked at an average price of USD 385/MT CFR Turkey.
