The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey’s imports have witnessed an increase of 23% M-o-M to 0.92 MnT iron ore as it was 0.75 MnT in Apr’17. Turkey iron ore imports were however down Y-o-Y by 5% as it were at 0.97 MnT in May’16.
In the first five months of 2017, the country imported 4.86 MnT iron ore, up 8% as it was 4.5 MnT in the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in May’17 was registered at 0.53 MnT, up M-o-M 130% against 0.23 MnT, last year May import quantity was same. On the other hand, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.39 MnT, down by both 25% M-o-M and 11% Y-o-Y compared with May’16.
Country’s iron ore imports were majorly from Brazil 0.36 MnT, Russia 0.31 MnT, Sweden 0.16 MnT & Ukraine 0.09 MnT.
