The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey has recorded an increase of 10% M-o-M in iron ore imports to 0.8 MnT in Nov’17 as against 0.73 MnT in Oct’17.However, the Y-o-Y recorded a marked decline of 32% in Nov’17 as against Nov’16 which stood at 1.18 MnT.
The Y-o-Y change from Jan-Nov’17 of the country has seen a marginal rise of 1% to 9.75 MnT as compared to the same period previous year to 9.68 MnT.
The non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) witnessed a hike of more than thrice M-o-M to 0.63 MnT in Nov’17 as against 0.2 MnT in Oct’17, while the Y-o-Y imports witnessed a decline of 2% in Nov’17 as against 0.64 MnT in Nov’16.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) recorded a decline of 68% M-o-M to 0.17 MnT in Nov’17 as against 0.53 MnT in Oct’17. However, import was down by 69% Y-o-Y in Nov’17 as compared to Nov’16 which stood at 0.55 MnT.

Brazil continued to be the largest exporter of iron ore to Turkey in Nov’17 and it stood at 0.45 MnT, followed by South Korea 0.17 MnT and Russia 0.14 MnT.
